The Nyagashiha processing mill is part of the larger Akawa project, created by Succam and Supremo, located in Murago region of Burundi. Motivated by a desire to help local farmers reach their production potential, Akawa rolled out an ambitious plan that would implement good agricultural practises, promote environmental respect and improve the working and living conditions of the farmers and the surrounding communities. They have been successful in achieving positive outcomes for all involved, with Nyagashiha producing coffees that are complex and deep in flavour.
