From the village of Chalbesa in the Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR) we bring you our take on the Ethiopia Worka Chalbesa. Grown amongst the high-altitude, lush landscape of the Ethiopian highlands, this washed coffee encompasses all things we know, love and expect from an Ethiopian – delicate florals, zesty acidity and a clean lingering finish.
All of our Ethiopian coffee from the last 3 years has been curated by Getu Bekele, awarded a Masters in Plant breeding and genetics and a Doctorate in global food security and crop improvement, he is a certified botanic expert and has focused all of his research into Ethiopian coffee farming. His work primarily focuses on training in coffee quality, variety, agronomy, processing and marketing for co-operatives and farmers throughout the year and has expanded to include coffee farmers in Ethiopia, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda providing guidance to improve their coffee production, productivity and quality, help them find appropriate market on international market.
Each year we are excited to taste what Getu has been helping to produce as it is always stunning, expressive coffee, delivering amazing flavour for us to taste and explore. This is first coffee of the four single origin coffees we are receiving from this year’s Ethiopian Harvest we think you will be just as exceited when you get to taste them as we have been.
