Tastes of : Passionfruit, Honeydew Melon, Peach, Ripe Pineapple, Honey.
From the highlands of Wegida in Yirgacheffe, this exceptional coffee is crafted by Shiferaw Dukale, a third-generation farmer dedicated to the art of coffee. Shiferaw’s 5.3-hectare farm showcases sustainable, shade-grown coffee, intercropped with native Enset (false banana), enhancing soil health and lending a distinct sweetness to the beans.
The Kurume variety thrives here, celebrated locally for its vibrant, layered flavors. Shiferaw, a member of the Jabanto farmers’ group, follows a meticulous post-harvest process. During the November to January harvest, only fully ripened cherries are selected, floated to ensure quality, and dried for 18-21 days on raised beds. This careful approach preserves the unique terroir of Yirgacheffe, bringing out the natural sweetness and bright acidity in every sip.
As part of a single-farmer promotion within the Jabanto group—a collective of 87 smallholder farmers focused on quality—this lot highlights the dedication of a farmer and community committed to excellence. Experience a complex, layered cup with bright acidity, full body, and a clean finish. Expect notes that capture the essence of Yirgacheffe’s unique flavour profile, making this coffee a standout and team favourite.
