Introducing the Frinsa Collective Community Coffee. We’re excited to share this beautifully structured washed coffee from West Java, Indonesia. The Frinsa Collective centres around a family-owned estate run by Wildan Mustofa. Alongside producing coffee from their own land, the Mustofa family purchases cherries from neighbouring smallholder farmers and processes them at the Frinsa estate mill, creating a collaborative model that supports quality and consistency across the region. Wildan oversees the agricultural and processing work, while his wife Atieq manages contracts and their son Fikri leads the cupping and quality control program. The family has gained a reputation for progressive processing methods in Java — producing honeys, naturals and experimental fermentations alongside more traditional washed lots.
For this washed lot, cherries are rinsed, sorted and depulped the same day they arrive at the mill. The coffee undergoes approximately 18 hours of fermentation before being washed to remove the mucilage and then carefully dried on patios for 7–10 days.
West Java’s volcanic soils, high elevations and tropical monsoon climate help produce some of the most distinctive coffees in Indonesia, and this lot is a great example of the region’s evolving specialty coffee landscape.
